knit, purl, repeat: chalice scarf

I found a pattern for a blanket that I really liked on Ravelry, but for lack of enough yarn and no time to look for and buy any before my knitting group I decided to modify the pattern and use up some yarn that I already have for a scarf.  Here is the beginning of it.  I went a little bit farther with the pattern and started to realize how much time it would take.  Being a lazy knitter I decided to switch to stockinette knitting until the end of the scarf and repeat the pattern there.  Then realized that I did not like how that was looking, so torn that out back to the chalice pattern and decided although it will take awhile I will enjoy wearing this more if it's done from start to finish with the pattern.

Don't know when this will get done, but vowing to finish this, along with 2 hats, my third chunky lace scarf, and seam/felt 2 pairs of slippers before starting anything else.  However, that doesn't really stop me from checking out what I wanna do for the next project.  Baby fever has got me wanting to knit some kiddo stuff.  Might have to make something for someone else until I'm able to do so for myself.
