Gift Cards for Free??

I read an article on MSN about ways to earn free gift cards and these two sites seemed legit, so I've signed up for them both.

MyPoints -- You can earn points by shopping at certain stores, many of them ones that you or I already do. Also can earn points by taking surveys, doing online reviews, and using their search engine. I've been a member for about 3 days and have 305 points. Of the gift cards I would redeem my points for, the first I would be able to get is a $10 Barnes and Noble card for 1400 points. There's a ton of great stores to redeem cards at (Banana Republic, Target, West Elm, Old Navy, you get the idea). A $50 card at Target is 7500 points. Will be tough to keep going and not cash in on the lower values. I get an email almost daily telling you of a special offer, clicking the link to read more about it gives you 5 points. Reviews are 25. If you got 30 points daily, it's 3 minutes of your morning routine of email checking, etc and in 2 months you'll be at 1800. .. more than enough for the miniums around 1350 and well on the way the middle range cards requiring around 3200. So far, so happy.

Swag Bucks -- Each "swagbucks" (SBs) through a couple different ways. I'd say the main way is using a search engine through their site (powered by Google). It's random if you're awarded SBs this way, doesn't matter how many searches you do, they say that their system is set up to reward geniune/unique inquires and even then it seems like you have to be the 10th honest request (or whatever formula they might have). You can also purchase from select stores, however for every $5 you spend you get 1 SB (MyPoints awards 2 or more points per $, adds up a little quicker). The site also puts out a SB Code in certain places on their site (I haven't found one yet) that are kind of like bonus bucks. As SBs are a little harder to aquire, their rewards program is a little easier. A $10 Barnes and Noble card is 125 SBs. . . I have 9 right now.

For my $10 Barnes and Noble card I'm about 20% there on MyPoints and 7%?? on SwagBucks. We'll see which really adds up faster.
